For an artist, part of the creative process is bringing forth something from nothing, ideas develop, a drawn line closes and becomes a shape, and through the manipulation of space, that shape becomes a form.

My current practice involves an investigation into this development of form and my inspiration is drawn from a fascination with the fundamental geometric patterns that are found within nature’s building blocks; like growth in nature my objects are created using repeated elements.

The idea that making is a form of meditation is an integral part of my practice, repetitive processes are an essential part of crafting fine small scale works, and once the monotony is overcome, the performance of these rhythmic actions becomes a mesmerising process. I incorporate this repetitive rhythm into the objects that I make using line and pattern, often with playful surprising outcomes.
